Thinking Out Loud: From District Manager to Small Business Enterprise


 

(A brief history of Jen's journey into the construction industry)


Jennifer graduated with honors with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. She received the Best In Chemical Engineering Award from Mackay School of Mines for creating a new theoretical approach to solving problems presented on systems involving distillation columns. She is licensed to practice engineering in the state of Nevada by the Nevada State Board of Land Surveyors and Professional Engineers as an Engineer in Training. As a professional musician, Jennifer performs on various stages in bars and lounges on the local Reno circuit as the lead singer for a cover band. She owns a recording studio and is a talented music producer. She furthered her education in music and studied for a Master of Fine Arts in Music Production for Visual Media at the Academy of Art in San Fransisco. She earned a degree, graduating with a Masters in Secondary Education with emphasis in Mathematics and S.T.E.M. education from Arizona's Grand Canyon University. Jennifer wrote and published the book Conscious Reading I: A Teacher's Guide to Literacy Strategies in the New World under the pen name Jhen Divine (available now on Amazon at https://a.co/d/3yqW997). Jennifer has worked in the transportation and logistics industry for nearly 20 years. While working as a District Manager overseeing a group of independent contractors, she took an interest in trucking operations and developed a passion for owning and operating trucks and other equipment and machinery. Rooted in engineering, she saw her past and present come together and point her towards a successful and lucrative future as small business enterprise in the construction industry.
